Deposition of polymer-like coatings with a nanosecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge at atmospheric pressure

چکیده
Atmospheric-pressure dielectric barrier discharges (AP-DBD) generally result in highly cross-linked coatings with a low retention of the monomer structure. Moreover, when high concentrations of precursor or/and reactive gas is used, coatings become less homogenous, less conformal and rougher. This study highlights the possibility to deposit smooth, conformal and polymer-like coatings thanks to homogeneous discharges and low duty cycles by using a nanosecond pulsed dc DBD discharge.
